Tottenham Hotspur players Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris took part in a revolt against former manager Jose Mourinho, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur stars Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris were allegedly involved in a dressing room revolt against recently-sacked manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese boss was relieved of his duties in the capital on Monday morning - just six days before Spurs take on Manchester City in this year's EFL Cup final.

Mourinho leaves the Lilywhites languishing in seventh spot in the Premier League table, and while Daniel Levy had the job of dismissing the 58-year-old, those on the pitch were allegedly unimpressed with the manager's methods.

According to The Sun, even Mourinho's loyal stalwarts soon became worried about the direction that the club was heading in, with Lloris and Kane raising their own concerns before the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager was given the boot.

Mourinho's criticism of his players for their failure to advance in the Europa League reportedly infuriated his athletes behind the scenes, and Spurs begin the post-Mourinho era on Wednesday when they do battle with Southampton.

However, Kane showed his support for Mourinho on social media after his departure, claiming that it was a "pleasure" to work under him.
