Real Madrid and Manchester United are both interested in signing Turkish centre-back Merih Demiral, according to a report.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing Turkish centre-back Merih Demiral during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Atalanta BC from Juventus and has made 31 appearances for La Dea during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring twice and contributing two assists in the process.

Atalanta have the option to buy the defender this summer, but according to Fanatik, the Serie A outfit will have competition from both Real Madrid and Man United.

The report claims that the pair have both been impressed with Demiral's performances for his loan side during the current season.

Man United are expected to sign at least one new centre-back this summer, with Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones potentially leaving on permanent deals ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are short of experience in the middle of their defence and are likely to boost that area of the field in the upcoming market.
