Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly place a £50m price tag on midfielder Yves Bissouma, amid interest from Aston Villa.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly placed a £50m price tag on midfielder Yves Bissouma, amid interest from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old is considered a key player under head coach Graham Potter, however, he has just under 18 months remaining on his contract, with talks over an extension yet to take place.

Aston Villa are the latest club to have expressed their interest in signing Bissouma, while the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have all previously been linked with the former Lille midfielder.

According to The Athletic, Brighton are under no pressure to sell Bissouma in the winter window, but as they are in a 'delicate position' regarding his contract situation, any offers in the region of £50m may see their stance change.

Potter revealed to the press before Saturday's FA Cup win over West Bromwich Albion that he expects all of his first-team players to remain at the Amex Stadium when the January transfer window closes.

Bissouma, who is currently away on international duty with Mali for the Africa Cup of Nations, has made 111 appearances for the Seagulls across all competitions, including 14 Premier League starts this campaign.
