Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Mohamed Salah's contract impasse at Liverpool, according to a report.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly both ready to pounce if Mohamed Salah fails to agree a new contract at Liverpool.

The Reds have tied down the likes of Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold to new deals, but they are yet to reach an agreement over an extension for Salah.

The former Roma and Chelsea man supposedly wants a staggering £500k per week to remain at Anfield beyond 2023, but Liverpool are not prepared to shatter their wage structure.

Should the attacker opt against extending his stay on Merseyside, The Mirror reports that both Real Madrid and PSG are among the clubs preparing to swoop in.

Talks are thought to be ongoing between Liverpool and Salah over a new contract, but the report adds that there has been 'no breakthrough' in discussions due to the 29-year-old's hefty demands.

Salah has already scored two goals and set up two more in three Premier League games this season, with his tally now standing at 127 goals and 49 assists in 206 games for Liverpool.
