Real Madrid Castilla concede late penalty to draw 1-1

A 10-man Ponferradina side score a late penalty to grab a surprise draw against Real Madrid Castilla.

Real Madrid Castilla have been stunned by a penalty as 10-man Ponferradina scored in the final stages of their Spanish Segunda tie to grab an unlikely 1-1 draw.

Castilla put themselves in what looked to be a comfortable position with only 21 minutes played as Jorge Burgui converted with his left foot from the centre of the box to put the hosts ahead.

Ponferradina made their pursuit of an equaliser difficult as Javier Carpio picked up a second yellow just as the second half began, leaving his side with 10 men for the rest of the game.

Castilla were not able to put the game out of sight having wasted a handful of good opportunities.

They were then made to pay as the referee awarded the away side a late penalty in the 84th minute, which was converted neatly by Yuri to hand the visitors a surprise draw.
