Barcelona reportedly put together a five-strong shortlist as they consider strengthening at centre-back during 2022.

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is reportedly one of five names placed on Barcelona's shortlist of potential centre-backs.

The Catalan giants added fellow City defender Eric Garcia to their ranks during the summer, with the young Spaniard immediately being introduced into the starting lineup.

However, according to Fichajes.net, club officials are keen to find replacements for the likes of Oscar Mingueza, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti.

With City open to parting ways with Laporte, it appears that Barcelona could move for the left-sided centre-back at some point in 2022.

The report claims that Lille's Sven Botman, Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt and new Tottenham Hotspur player Cristian Romero also feature on the shortlist.

Southampton's Mohammed Salisu, who has previously made an impression in La Liga with Real Valladolid, is another player under consideration.
