Queens Park Rangers, Fulham fined £40k, £36k respectively by FA

Queens Park Rangers and Fulham are fined £40,000 and £36,000 respectively by the FA following the melee that broke out during the West London derby on January 21.

Queens Park Rangers and Fulham have been fined by the Football Association after tensions spilled over during the West London derby on January 21.

QPR have been ordered to pay £40,000, while a £36,000 fine has been issued to Fulham after both sets of players and coaching staff members clashed towards the end of the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road.

A statement from the FA read: "Both clubs admitted two breaches of FA Rule E20(a) in that, firstly, in or around the 91st minute of the fixture, they failed to ensure their players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

"Furthermore, in or around the 94th minute, they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion."

QPR coach Marc Bircham and Fulham medical manager Marco Cesarini have been individually fined £2,000 for the behaviour during the melee.

The R's sit 18th in the Championship table, while the Cottagers are in ninth place, three points adrift of the playoff places.
