Half-Time Report: Yossi Benayoun goal enough for Queens Park Rangers at the break

Queens Park Rangers are beating Wigan Athletic at Loftus Road in their Championship match.

A Yossi Benayoun goal has given Queens Park Rangers a slender lead against Wigan Athletic.

QPR started well, with Bobby Zamora getting free in the box from Ravel Morrison's pass. The striker went down under a challenge, but was given offside.

A foul on Jack Collison gave Josh McEachran a chance from a free kick from just outside the area, although it went wide with Robert Green at full stretch.

A move from a corner then saw Clint Hill play in Benayoun, and the midfielder slotted the ball in from the centre of the box.

Wigan responded well to going behind, but James Perch was unable to beat Green with a well-struck shot. The QPR goalkeeper also had to be alert to tip away James McClean's low effort.

The winger then dragged the ball wide after making space for the shot.

Despite being ahead, QPR struggled to contain the Latics, who were the stronger side as the match reached half time.
