Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly prepared to stay at the club if Bayern Munich do not agree a deal with Daniel Levy before the start of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will reportedly stay at the club for the 2023-24 season if no agreement has been reached with Bayern Munich before Spurs' opening Premier League game.

For the past few weeks, Bayern have been locked in negotiations with Tottenham over a potential deal for the England captain, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy remains incredibly reluctant to let Kane depart, in spite of his contract uncertainty, but the 61-year-old has chaired meetings with Bayern executives.

The two clubs are believed to have met in person on Monday to continue talks, but Bayern remain short of Tottenham's £100m valuation of Kane, who was originally believed to be open to a move to the Allianz Arena.

Having turned 30 without winning a major team trophy, Kane supposedly feels that he can fulfil his silverware ambitions at the Allianz Arena and is confident that Thomas Tuchel's side have what it takes to win the Champions League.

However, with Bayern no closer to reaching an agreement with Tottenham, the Evening Standard claims that Kane is not prepared to leave the club after the new Premier League season kicks off.

Ange Postecoglou's side will commence their top-flight campaign away to Brentford on August 13, and Kane will not entertain the idea of an exit from Tottenham after that point.

The report states that the striker would deem it "unfair" to Postecoglou if he were to depart during the Premier League season, although Tottenham are willing to continue talks with Bayern until the window slams shut.

Furthermore, there is a feeling that Kane could be trying to push Tottenham into making a quick decision over his future with his stance, although he is still expected to resist contract talks while the window remains open.

However, should Tottenham show significant improvement under Postecoglou during the early stages of the campaign, Kane would apparently be open to discussing an extension with the Lilywhites.

During Monday's meeting, Bayern chiefs Jan-Christian Dreesen and Marco Neppe are understood to have tabled an £85m bid to Levy, but a separate report from The Independent claims that the German champions' offer was rejected.

Bayern are supposedly hopeful of driving the fee down to £90m, but Levy is refusing to budge, and the duo of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are still lurking in the background.

Kane is not thought to be interested in a move to France, though, while Levy is seemingly doing everything in his power to avoid selling his star man to a Premier League rival.

Another stellar individual campaign for Kane in 2022-23 saw the marksman become the all-time leading goalscorer for both England and Tottenham, netting 30 goals in 38 Premier League games.

The Lilywhites could only muster an eighth-placed finish, though, meaning that Kane is set to be without European football for the first time in his Tottenham career next term.
