Thomas Tuchel has reportedly told Bayern Munich that he wants the club to attempt to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes this summer if he is to sign a new contract at Allianz Arena.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Tuchel would be standing down as Bayern manager this summer, and the German has recently been linked with the Man United job, which could become vacant at the end of the campaign, with the club preparing to make a decision on Erik ten Hag's future.

However, it is understood that Tuchel could now undergo a U-turn and sign a new deal at Bayern, who have struggled in their search to replace the 50-year-old.

According to The Independent, Tuchel has told the Munich giants that he wants them to target Fernandes this summer, while he is also demanding that a new number six is signed before he pens a new deal.

Saudi clubs 'eye huge double Liverpool raid this summer'

Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly eyeing big-money Premier League acquisitions this summer, with Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker viewed as genuine targets.

Salah was heavily linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia last summer, but the Egypt international ultimately remained at Anfield.

The 31-year-old has again starred for the Reds during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 25 goals and providing 14 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.

The forward's contract at Anfield is due to expire next summer, though, and there have been suggestions that he could leave the Merseyside giants in the upcoming market.

Manchester United are reportedly considering making a move for either Marc Cucurella or Ben Chilwell during this summer's transfer window, with the club expected to bring in a new left-back.

Luke Shaw's fitness problems have seen him restricted to just 15 appearances this season, while Tyrell Malacia has not played at all for the Red Devils during the 2023-24 campaign due to a knee injury which has required him to undergo two operations in quick succession.

Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Sofyan Amrabat have all filled-in at left-back this season, with the position proving to be problematic for the 20-time English champions.

Man United will not have Champions League money for next season, which will restrict their summer spending, while the club are also working to strict financial rules.

"Get rid of them" - Wayne Rooney insists Man Utd must have summer clear-out

Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has said that Bruno Fernandes is one of the few senior players that he would keep at Old Trafford moving forward.

The Red Devils are currently eighth in the Premier League table and face missing out on European football altogether for next season via their league position.

However, a spot in the 2024-25 Europa League would be secured if they overcame Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup at the end of the month.

Man United are expected to be busy this summer, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, and Rooney has insisted that there must be a clear-out ahead of next season.

Arsenal, Man City 'make contact with Premier League midfielder'

Arsenal and Manchester City have reportedly both stepped up their interests in signing one of their top midfield targets for the summer transfer window.

Since leaving Lyon midway through the 2021-22 season, Bruno Guimaraes has been a revelation in the Newcastle United midfield, shining both defensively and offensively.

After playing a fundamental role in the Magpies' push for Champions League football last season, Guimaraes has conjured up another six goals and eight assists in 49 matches during the current campaign.

However, Eddie Howe's side saw their Champions League journey end at the first hurdle, while a 3-2 loss to Manchester United on Wednesday night in the Premier League leaves them at risk of failing to qualify for Europe entirely next season.

Arsenal drop double transfer hint in new home kit launch?

Arsenal have unveiled their new home kit for the 2024-25 season, with the notable inclusion of two transfer-linked players in the club's official launch.

For the first time since the 1989-90 season, the Gunners will sport a red jersey with the cannon emblem on the front, as opposed to their more traditional logo over the past 35 years.

However, Mikel Arteta's men will not be permitted to wear their new strips on the final day of the 2023-24 campaign, as teams capable of winning the title must compete in their current kits.

As a result, Gunners fans must wait until the pre-season period to see their side don their fresh colours, but a plethora of players tipped to head for the Emirates exit door this summer may never be seen in the new kit.

Fernandes issues defiant response to Man United exit talk

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has delivered a staunch response to suggestions that he could leave in the summer transfer window.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in January 2020, Fernandes has established himself as the club's standout player, and was made captain by Erik ten Hag.

A total of 79 goals and 65 assists have been delivered from his 231 appearances in all competitions, yet he remains with minimal silverware.

Fernandes's solitary trophy with the Red Devils is last season's EFL Cup, with United since under-performing in the Premier League during 2023-24.

Newcastle 'offer four-year contract to departing Bournemouth defender'

Newcastle United have reportedly offered a four-year contract to Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.

The Magpies' European hopes received a blow in Wednesday's 3-2 away defeat to Manchester United, leaving Eddie Howe's side in seventh place and three points adrift of safety.

Even if Newcastle fail to secure European qualification, they are still expected to strengthen their backline ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The defensive duo of Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman are currently sidelined with long-term injuries, forcing Howe to form centre-back partnerships out of Emil Krafth, Dan Burn and Fabian Schar.
