Early goals lead to draw in Stuttgart

A goal for each side in the opening six minutes sees Stuttgart draw 1-1 with Nuremberg in the Bundesliga.

Two goals inside the opening six minutes resulted in a 1-1 draw between Stuttgart and Nuremberg in the Bundesliga this evening.

The home side got off to a quick start when Vedad Ibisevic fired them ahead from the penalty spot just three minutes in, after Alexandru Maxim was brought down by Niklas Stark.

Nuremberg got back on level terms just three minutes later when Josip Drmic tapped in from a Timothy Chandler cross, hitting both posts on the way in.

Ibrahima Traore came close to putting Stuttgart back ahead in the 23rd minute, sending a curling effort into the box which was kept out by the post.

Maxim managed to find the back of the net 15 minutes before half time, but his flick-in from an Ibisevic cross was ruled out for offside.

Stuttgart made a bright start to the second half, winning a corner just five minutes after the restart, but Martin Harnik's header went just wide.

Daniel Ginczek tested Sven Ulreich moments after coming off the bench for the visitors, but the Stuttgart keeper was alert, and pushed a long-range effort from Makoto Hasebe clear moments later.

Maxim had a chance to slot home the winner deep in stoppage time, but Emanuel Pogatetz defended strongly on the line to keep the ball out, securing a point for Nuremberg.
