Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Southampton could line up against Fulham for Saturday's Premier League clash.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has a big call to make over the fitness of striker Danny Ings for Saturday's visit of relegated Fulham.

Ings made a swifter-than-expected return from injury against Crystal Palace in midweek and scored twice in the Saints' 3-1 comeback win.

However, with this home match with Fulham coming just four days later, Hasenhuttl may well decide to play it safe with the England international.

Should that be the case, Nathan Redmond could push further up to partner Che Adams - also on the scoresheet last time out - in attack.

That would free up a space out on the left-hand side, which Moussa Djenepo will hope to occupy, while Theo Walcott and Michael Obafemi are also pushing for recalls.

Defender Jan Bednarek sustained an injury against Palace and is not expected to recover in time for this game, so Mohammed Salisu is in contention for just a sixth league start.

William Smallbone and Ryan Bertrand have been ruled out, meanwhile, the latter of whom may have played his final game for the club after confirming that he is leaving in the summer.

Southampton possible starting lineup: McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Salisu, Vestergaard, Stephens; Walcott, Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Djenepo; Redmond, Adams
