Javier Tebas doubts Mohamed Salah move to Real Madrid or Barcelona

La Liga president Javier Tebas believes is it "very unlikely" that Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool and move to Spain this summer.

La Liga president Javier Tebas believes is it "very unlikely" that Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool and move to Spain this summer.

The Egyptian is said to be considering a move away from Anfield at the end of this season, with Jurgen Klopp's side facing the possibility of missing out on a place in next season's Champions League.

Liverpool would be set to make a huge profit from any potential sale of Salah, who cost around £43m from Roma back in June 2017, but in the current financial climate Tebas is unsure whether Spanish giants Real Madrid or Barcelona could afford such a deal.

"We are at the same level as the Premier League, the difference is the audience, they have a bigger audience in Europe and we have our huge base in the Middle and Far East," Tebas told Egyptian TV station ON Time Sports.

"An arrival of Mohamed Salah in La Liga? With the current financial situation, it is very unlikely that Liverpool will sell Mohamed Salah or that a club will sign a big name this summer.

"I definitely hope that he joins La Liga but I don't expect big money transfers this summer."

Salah has featured in all 27 Premier League matches for Liverpool this campaign and is the league's top goalscorer with 17 strikes to his name.
