Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp talks up the probability of Mohamed Salah signing a new contract at the club, with his current deal expiring at the end of next season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has talked up the probability of Mohamed Salah signing a new contract at the club.

The 29-year-old's future has come into the spotlight in recent months due to his prolific form this term, as well as the fact that his current deal expires at the end of next season.

Salah has repeatedly insisted that he wants to stay at Anfield until he retires, but the two parties remain apart in negotiations over wages.

However, Klopp has provided a positive update on the talks and insists that he "couldn't care less" about when the deal is signed, as long as Salah ends up extending his stay on Merseyside.

"We are in really good conversations," Klopp told Sky Sports News.

"I want it to happen, but when? I couldn't care less."

Salah leads the Premier League in both goals (15) and assists (nine) this season, while no other player in Europe can better his tally of 15 top-flight goals in 2021-22.
