Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer rumours, as Roma offer Paulo Dybala a contract and Aston Villa join the race for Espanyol's Raul de Tomas.

Roma are reportedly closing in on the signing of free agent Paulo Dybala.

The Argentina international is one of the most sought-after free agents on the market after running down his Juventus deal at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Roma were determined to fend off competition from Napoli to win the race for Dybala, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a move is now on the verge of completion.

Romano claims that Jose Mourinho's side offered the 28-year-old a three-year deal until the summer of 2025, and he could earn as much as €6m (£5.1m) with add-ons included.

Mourinho is said to have earmarked Dybala as a priority target, with the striker bagging 115 goals and 48 assists in 293 games during his time at Juventus.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are seemingly making contingency plans for the backline in case Chelsea-linked Presnel Kimpembe leaves the club this summer.

The two clubs are said to be in talks over a move for the France international, and Christophe Galtier's side have already identified an ideal replacement.

According to Romano, Sporting Lisbon youngster Goncalo Inacio is among the candidates being considered, and sporting director Luis Campos is a big fan of the 20-year-old.

Inacio rose through the youth ranks at Sporting and registered four goals and two assists in 28 Primeira Liga matches last term after winning the 2020-21 top-flight title.

However, the Portugal Under-21 international only extended his contract with Ruben Amorim's side in April, and he is not due to become a free agent until 2026.

Over in Spain, the race to sign Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas is hotting up after the 27-year-old enjoyed a prolific 2021-22 campaign in La Liga.

After guiding Espanyol back to the top tier, De Tomas hit 17 goals in 34 league matches last season - only Karim Benzema and Iago Aspas netted more in the division.

The likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United and Everton have been credited with an interest, and according to Fichajes, Aston Villa are the latest name to join the race.

The report adds that Espanyol are willing to sanction De Tomas's exit in order to improve the squad elsewhere, but Diego Martinez's side are after a fee of €35m (£29.8m).

De Tomas was a product of Real Madrid's youth academy but only made one senior appearance for Los Blancos, and he spent six months on the books at Benfica before joining Espanyol in January 2020.

Finally, the speculation surrounding Sonny Perkins's future is finally set to come to an end following the 18-year-old's recent departure from West Ham United.

Perkins was on the books at the London Stadium for three and a half years and hit 12 goals in 21 Premier League 2 games last term, but he only made three senior appearances under David Moyes.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Leeds United are on the verge of announcing Perkins as their latest summer signing, with the teenager already signing his contract after passing a medical.

Aston Villa were also said to be interested in a move for Perkins, who featured twice in the Europa League and once in the Premier League for the Hammers.

Perkins rejected offers to sign a professional deal at West Ham, which left the club "extremely disappointed" with the striker and his representatives.
