Nottingham Forest are allegedly pushing to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas and Santos youngster Angelo Gabriel.

Nottingham Forest are allegedly making progress in their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas and Santos youngster Angelo Gabriel.

Although the 2022 Championship playoff winners have spent much of the campaign in the Premier League relegation zone, they have recently put together their best form of the season.

Having collected 11 points from their most recent six matches, Forest now sit in 13th position in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone.

Nevertheless, that has not stopped Steve Cooper from making further changes to his first-team squad, adding Gustavo Scarpa, Danilo and Chris Wood in January.

With just three days remaining of the transfer window, however, it appears that Cooper is intent on overseeing more additions, most notably that of Navas.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the PSG stopper is open to departing Parc des Princes for the City Ground.

After discussions with the relevant parties, it is suggested that the veteran is ready to sign for Forest having barely featured for the Ligue 1 champions this campaign.

However, with PSG in line to pay a large portion of Navas's wages, it is indicated that the final decision will be down to PSG, and whether they wish to promote Sergio Rico to the role of deputy to Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Should a transfer be completed, the 36-year-old would initially become first choice, although that would be subject to change once Dean Henderson returns from injury in a number of weeks.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail says that Forest are attempting to win the race for Santos prospect Gabriel.

Despite having only turned 18 years of age in December, the winger has already made 101 appearances for Santos, contributing three goals and nine assists.

Seven of those assists came in the Brazilian top flight in 2022, and it appears that Cooper wants to win the race for the signature of a player who has been linked with bigger clubs in the past.

Gabriel, who can feature on either flank, has just under two years remaining on his contract with Santos.
