Azbe Jug blunder hands maximum points to Nantes

An own goal by Azbe Jug hands Nantes a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux in Ligue 1 and sees them move to within four points of their opponents in the table.

Nantes moved to within four points of fifth-placed Bordeaux in Ligue 1 after defeating them 2-1 at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The home side took 23 minutes to draw first blood, with Jordan Veretout firing home from a tight angle after being picked out in the box by Alejandro Bedoya.

Bordeaux were level just before the half-hour mark courtesy of a blunder from Kian Hansen, who put through his own net to level the match by the interval.

Both sides had chances to win it in the second period, but it was another own goal that proved decisive, with Azbe Jug turning the ball past his own goalkeeper following a Nantes corner.

The result leaves Nantes in seventh place in the table, but both AS Monaco and Montpellier can move ahead of them if they win their games in hand.
