Manchester United remain hopeful of winning the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, accoridng to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly refusing to give up on signing Erling Braut Haaland and are prepared to battle for the Borussia Dortmund striker's signature this summer.

The 20-year-old has scored 33 times in 31 appearances for BVB during the 2020-21 campaign, while he has netted 49 goals in 49 outings for the club in total since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg.

A number of clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are said to be keen on signing the Norway international in the upcoming market.

Haaland is believed to favour a move to Madrid, but according to The Express, Man United are not prepared to give up hope of bringing the youngster to Old Trafford.

The report claims that the Norwegian is the team's 'priority target' in the final third of the field, while their interest 'remains strong' despite recent suggestions that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were down the pecking order for the forward.

A release clause in Haaland's BVB contract will not be active until next summer, but the German outfit could be forced into a sale this year if they are unable to secure a spot in the 2021-22 Champions League.
