Juventus reportedly agree personal terms with Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt on a contract which will see him earn up to almost £11m a year with the Italian champions.

Juventus have reportedly agreed personal terms with Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt.

The 19-year-old's future has been one of the most talked-about topics of the current transfer window, with the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City among the European giants to have been linked with the youngster.

Juventus have reportedly beaten all of those to his signature, though, and are now on the brink of completing an €80m (£71.7m) deal for the Netherlands international.

The transfer fee could still rise with bonuses and add-ons yet to be agreed, but Calciomercato claims that contract details have been finalised between the Italian champions and the player.

De Ligt is set to earn a base salary of €8m (£7.2m) per year in Turin, with 'easy' bonuses seeing that potentially rise to €12m (£10.8m) a season.

The teenager's agent Mino Raiola is also expected to earn a hefty sum of around €11m (£9.9m) in commission for brokering the deal.

De Ligt captained Ajax to a domestic double and the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, making 55 appearances across all competitions.
