Bayern Munich reportedly intend to target Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland if they part ways with Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern Munich will reportedly join the race to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland if they sell Robert Lewandowski.

The 33-year-old has netted 11 times in nine games for Bayern this season, strengthening the argument that he remains one of European football's top strikers.

However, at a time when the Poland international has less than two years remaining on his contract, he is known to be open to taking on a new challenge.

According to Bild, Haaland has been identified as a potential replacement for the veteran should Bayern choose to do business next summer.

With Haaland said to have a £64m release clause in his contract, Bayern could theoretically find a long-term alternative to Lewandowski without a large net spend.

Nevertheless, the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid are also thought to be ready to make a bid for the Norwegian in 2022.
