Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with old rivals Arsenal.

Manchester United take on old rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as they look to provide a swift response to their shock defeat last time out.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side slumped to a shock home defeat at the hands of rock-bottom Sheffield United on Wednesday night, ending a 13-match unbeaten league run and denying them the chance to return to the top of the table.

The Red Devils have not lost back-to-back league games for more than a year but come up against an Arsenal side in good form themselves as they bid to resurrect their top-four challenge.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Eric Bailly

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: January 30 (vs. Arsenal)

Eric Bailly was a notable absentee for Man United against Sheffield United, with Solskjaer confirming that the centre-back was due to start before suffering a knock in training. Solskjaer revealed that Bailly is "sore and bruised" and, while the injury is not thought to be serious, the quick turnaround in fixtures makes him a major doubt for this game.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer suggested last month that Marcos Rojo could be available again in January, but he remains sidelined by a calf injury and may have already played his final game for the club with speculation over his future continuing to swirl.

Brandon Williams

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Brandon Williams has also been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in search of more regular first-team football. In addition to the competition for places, a knock has also kept him out of Solskjaer's plans recently, and he remains sidelined for this one.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones was left out of Man United's Premier League squad due to a knee injury which has kept him out for the entire season so far.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for this match.
