Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly hoping to beat Liverpool to the signature of Red Bull Salzburg starlet Karim Adeyemi as they plan for Kylian Mbappe's potential exit.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to rival Liverpool for the signature of Karim Adeyemi.

The Red Bull Salzburg starlet has been in scintillating form for the Austrian champions in the early stages of the 2021-22 season, scoring 14 goals and setting up two more in 18 appearances across all tournaments.

Adeyemi's form has reportedly attracted the attention of Liverpool, and the 19-year-old recently said that he was "honoured" to be linked with the six-time European champions.

However, Sky Deutschland now claims that PSG have entered the race for Adeyemi's signature, with Mauricio Pochettino's side making contingency plans should Kylian Mbappe depart next summer.

The report adds that a January departure from Salzburg is not totally off the cards for Adeyemi, but Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are at the head of the queue after scheduling talks with the striker's camp.

Adeyemi remains contracted to Salzburg until 2024, and any January deal for the teenager would reportedly see him rejoin the Austrian giants on loan for the remainder of the season.
