Everton are not planning a move to sign Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to a report.

Everton have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer but are not currently interested in pursuing a move for the Barcelona attacker.

The Catalan giants are desperate to reduce their wage bill amid their financial problems, and Coutinho has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou in recent weeks.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton have been offered the opportunity to sign the Brazil international, but the Toffees, at the moment, are not planning a move in the current market.

The report claims that the English club's new boss Rafael Benitez is desperate to boost his midfield options, but the Merseyside outfit are currently looking at other options in that area of the field.

Coutinho only made 14 appearances for Barcelona last season due to a serious knee injury but is now working on his fitness ahead of the new campaign.

Leicester City, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Marseille and Liverpool have also all been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old over the last few weeks.
