Premier League 100 club: Record-breaking Mohamed Salah edges closer to Jamie Vardy

Sports Mole looks at the latest standings in the Premier League 100-goal club after Mohamed Salah added to his tally in Liverpool's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Mohamed Salah added yet another goal to his ever-growing Premier League tally in one of few bright spots for Liverpool during their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City this afternoon.

The Egyptian winger opened the scoring at the Etihad Stadium with an emphatic first-time finish after being teed up by Diogo Jota, netting his 132nd goal in the English top flight.

In doing so, Salah moved to within two goals of Jamie Vardy as the 14th-highest scorer in Premier League history, while he has also now moved clear of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in terms of overall Premier League goal involvements.

Salah's goal also saw him become the first Liverpool player since Ian Rush in 1986-87 to score in four separate games against an opponent in a single season, as well as moving past Michael Owen as the club's leading away scorer in the Premier League era.

However, his goal was ultimately in vain as Manchester City outclassed Jurgen Klopp's side to run out comfortable winners, dealing another major blow to Liverpool's top-four hopes in the process.
