The representatives of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar reportedly make contact with Juventus over a potential summer move for the Brazil international.

The representatives of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar are reportedly in discussions with Juventus over a move for the 30-year-old.

Neymar's 2021-22 season was a troubled one for multiple reasons, as the Brazil international struggled with injuries and was booed by his own supporters.

The former Barcelona and Santos man still managed 13 goals and eight assists in 28 appearances for Les Parisiens last term, but his long-term future is being called into question.

Neymar is under contract at the Parc des Princes until the summer of 2025, but a two-year extension will supposedly automatically apply on July 1.

However, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently opened the door for players to leave who are not performing their best, telling La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Beyond the rumours about the Neymar's future, everyone has to give their best. And, if not, they will have to leave, like those who took advantage: there will be sales."

PSG are said to be open to selling Neymar for the right price this summer, and according to Spanish outlet AS, contact has been made with Italian giants Juventus.

However, the Old Lady - who are looking to acquire Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria ahead of the 2022-23 season - are unlikely to be able to afford to sign Neymar this summer.

Neymar would supposedly have to sacrifice at least half of his salary to sever ties with PSG and seal a move to Turin, and the South American is unlikely to consider such a scenario.

Only Newcastle United are expected to be able to afford Neymar's salary and price tag this summer, and the attacker supposedly has no intention of moving to St James' Park.

As a result, Neymar is still expected to remain at PSG for the 2022-23 season, as an automatic extension until the summer of 2027 would make an exit 'practically impossible'.

The world's most expensive player has now turned out 144 times in all competitions for Les Parisiens since his £199.8m switch from Barcelona, scoring 100 goals and setting up 60 more.

Neymar has won a total of 12 trophies in the French capital, including four Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France crowns, three Trophee des Champions titles and two Coupe de la Ligues.

While PSG have tied Kylian Mbappe down to a new deal, out-of-favour striker Mauro Icardi could still be on the way out amid links with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The French champions are also said to be open to selling Georginio Wijnaldum after a difficult first year in Paris, and the Dutchman is supposedly wanted by numerous Premier League clubs.

President Al-Khelaifi has already confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino will not be in charge next term, and Nice manager Christophe Galtier is expected to be the new man in the dugout alongside new football advisor Luis Campos.
