Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Preston North End - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship fixture between Huddersfield Town and Preston North End, including predictions, team news and lineups.

Huddersfield Town welcome Preston North End to The John Smith's Stadium on Saturday as they look to make it three wins from three.

Huddersfield came out on top against a struggling Derby County side in midweek, while Preston North End secured another good result away from home, beating Queens Park Rangers 2-0.

Juninho Bacuna's first league goal for nearly eight months was enough to sentence Phillip Cocu's Derby side to their fifth defeat in six, as Town ran out 1-0 winners.

Couple the win over Derby with a strong display away at Swansea City, Huddersfield are now starting to find form and are unbeaten in their last four.

The Terriers now sit ninth in the table and have won three of their last four, showing some real momentum going into what is a hectic period of games for Championship teams.

Aside from the 0-0 these two teams endured in their last meeting, this fixture traditionally brings goals, with 16 goals scored in four fixtures prior to the aforementioned draw.

Two penalties proved the difference on Wednesday night as Preston overcame QPR at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium to continue their strong away form.

The result means Preston's two wins so far this season have both come in West London, this victory adding to a 4-2 success at Brentford.

In contrast, poor home form has contributed to a mixed start for the Preston and they will be hoping that they can start to string results together to help them move up the table.

Two home fixtures against Millwall and Birmingham City will follow the trip to the John Smith's Stadium, giving the Lancashire side the opportunity to rectify the bad results that have come to be expected at Deepdale.

Team News

Christopher Schindler was not ready to start against Derby in the week having picked up a knock and consequently forced Carlos Corberan into a formation change, that meant Frazier Campbell was handed a start.

As a result, Carlos Corberan will need to decide whether to keep faith in Campbell or recall Schindler and revert back to 4-4-2. Otherwise, Corberan will likely name the same starting lineup from the win over the Rams.

Alex Neil will need to decide whether to recall Tom Barkhuizen, or once again ask Emil Riis Jakobsen to lead the line for his side as they go in pursuit of back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Neil has no other injury concerns for Saturday's trip.

Huddersfield Town possible starting lineup:
Hamer; Pipa, Stearman, Sarr, Toffolo; Eiting, Hogg; Mbenza, O'Brien, Koroma; Campbell

Preston North End possible starting lineup:
Rudd; Rafferty, Bauer, Davies, Hughes; Pearson, Ledson; Potts, Browne, Sinclair; Jakobsen

SM words green background

We say: Huddersfield Town 2-2 Preston North End

Both teams come into this fixture buoyed by recent results and will be keen to press their case as the surprise package for this season. We see goals in this one, but we cannot separate the two sides, and see the spoils being shared.
