Pa Modou Kah scored an equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage time to earn a 2-2 draw for the Portland Timbers against FC Dallas.

Dallas created the first chance in just the third minute when Blas Perez picked out Fabian Castillo, whose powerful strike from a tight angle was beaten away by Donovan Ricketts.

Despite the lively start to the match, the opening goal didn't arrive until the 27th minute, when Castillo once again collected a pass from Perez before going one better to fire past a helpless Ricketts in the Portland goal.

The visitors doubled their advantage six minutes before the interval thanks to some clever play from Tesho Akindele, who beat a couple of defenders before pulling the ball back to allow Perez to fire home from just inside the box.

Portland applied most of the pressure in the early stages of the second half, but they were frustrated in their attempts to get back into the match for long periods as both Fanendo Adi and Gaston Fernandez saw good opportunities saved by Dallas goalkeeper Raul Fernandez.

The hosts pulled a goal back in the 79th minute when Will Johnson slotted home a penalty just a few moments after Adi had been brought down inside the box by Je-Vaughn Watson.

Portland came agonisingly close to equalising four minutes later, but Fernandez could only strike the post with his effort.

The pressure was then piled on Dallas as Moises Hernandez was awarded a straight red card on Danny O'Rourke, before Perez received his marching orders for two yellow cards in stoppage time.

Dallas were made to pay for their lack of discipline in the closing stages when Kah latched on to the ball inside a congested penalty area to secure a draw for the Timbers.
