Real Madrid prepare to offer Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger a contract worth £6.8m a year to move to the Bernabeu, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to offer Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger a contract worth £6.8m a year to move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer next summer.

The 28-year-old, who continues to be strongly linked with a move to Bayern Munich, has still not signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge, and as it stands, he will be a free agent next June.

Foreign clubs will be able to speak with the Germany international at the turn of the year if he does not pen a new contract with Thomas Tuchel's side in the coming weeks.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are determined to bring the defender to the Spanish capital and are prepared to offer him lucrative terms.

The report claims that Los Blancos will place a £6.8m-a-year offer on the table, in addition to handing the German a substantial signing-on bonus.

Rudiger has once again been a key player for Tuchel's team during the 2021-22 campaign, making 10 appearances in all competitions, scoring once in the process.

Real Madrid are keen to sign at least one new centre-back next summer, having allowed both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane to leave the club ahead of the current season.
