Amendments have been made to Chelsea's special licence, which now allows them to sell tickets for certain matches for the remainder of the season.

Chelsea are now in a position where they are able to sell tickets for certain matches to their supporters.

When the government imposed sanctions on the West Londoners and owner Roman Abramovich earlier this month, Chelsea were prevented from selling tickets to ensure that the Russian billionaire did not make a profit.

However, the government made amendments to Chelsea's special licence on Wednesday, giving them permission to sell tickets for away matches with all funds being donated to Ukrainian charities.

Tickets for cup and women's matches will also be made available, meaning that the home leg of the Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid will no longer be played behind closed doors.

Furthermore, Chelsea have also been aided in their bid to maintain a cashflow, with access being provided to a £30m fund via Fordstam Ltd, who are owned by Abramovich.

Chelsea say that an announcement on which charities stand to benefit from ticket revenue will be made in due course.
