Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Sociedad

Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga fixture against Real Sociedad.

Barcelona continue their La Liga title challenge on Sunday evening with a meeting against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta Stadium.

Having witnessed Atletico Madrid only draw with Getafe, the Catalan giants moved to within four points of the leaders with victory over Huesca on Monday night.

With a two-point advantage over rivals Real Madrid, Ronald Koeman will be eager to make it five successive league wins before the international break.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Barca's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Sociedad, who are looking to remain in the race for the Champions League spots.

Ansu Fati

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Barca remain without the services of Fati due to a knee injury, and it is still unclear when the teenager will be available for selection once again. However, the winger should feature before the end of the season.

Sergi Roberto

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: April 4 (vs. Real Valladolid)

Sergi Roberto, who has only played eight times in La Liga this season, is currently on the sidelines with a muscular problem, and the 29-year-old is unlikely to be risked before the international break.

Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho was forced to undergo knee surgery to treat the problem that he picked up against Eibar at the end of December, and the Brazil international is expected to be out until April.

Gerard Pique

Having sustained a knee injury during the recent Copa del Rey tie with Sevilla, Pique has been ruled out for the foreseeable future. The centre-back will not return until after the international break at the earliest.
