Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Granada

Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Copa del Rey showdown with Granada.

Barcelona will be aiming to take another step towards Copa del Rey success when they take on fellow La Liga outfit Granada in Wednesday's quarter-final.

Ronald Koeman's men recently avenged their Supercopa de Espana defeat to Athletic Bilbao by beating them 2-1 in the top flight, with Lionel Messi scoring a sublime free kick before Antoine Griezmann wrapped up the win.

The second-placed Catalan giants now find themselves ahead of reigning champions Real Madrid in the table, and they head into their Copa del Rey tie having already beaten Cornella and Rayo Vallecano to reach the last eight.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's quarter-final.

Sergino Dest

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: February 3 (vs. Granada)

Sergino Dest continues to struggle with a thigh problem and it remains to be seen if he will play a part despite being included in the squad, but Koeman has been able to welcome fellow defender Sergi Roberto back to the team recently.

Ansu Fati

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The highly-rated Ansu Fati sustained a serious knee injury back in November and has been out of action ever since. The attacker is understood to be facing at least another month on the sidelines.

Gerard Pique

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

As is the case with Fati, Gerard Pique suffered a knee injury back in November against Atletico Madrid. However, the experienced centre-back is thought to be ahead of schedule in his recovery and could potentially return before April.

Philippe Coutinho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Philippe Coutinho is Barcelona's third knee-related absentee, but unlike Pique, the attacker has undergone surgery to address the problem. The Brazilian will now focus on his recovery for the next couple of months, but should return before the season is over.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Sergio Busquets was suspended for the league clash with Athletic but is back here, meaning that Barcelona have no players suspended for Wednesday's quarter-final.
