Half-Time Report: Carpi keeping out AC Milan

AC Milan take charge late in the first half but fail to make the breakthrough before the interval against Carpi.

AC Milan have been unable to find a breakthrough in a goalless first half with Carpi at Stadio Alberto Braglia.

Marco Borriello was involved regularly against one of his former clubs, but the Carpi striker could only slice a shot wide of the target after beating the offside trap to trouble the visitors.

Carpi continued to look threatening and only a stunning stop from Gianluigi Donnarumma denied them the opener as the teenager dived full stretch to get to Lorenzo Lollo's powerful effort from the edge of the box.

Milan improved as the first half progressed, but Vid Belec was in fine form when they did create an opening, with the Carpi shot-stopper pushing M'Baye Niang's strike past the post.

Sinisa Mihajlovic's side continued to ask more questions as Niang linked up with Carlos Bacca more regularly to threaten the Carpi defenders, who held firm to reach the break on level terms.
