Arsenal legend Bob Wilson reveals that he is set to undergo treatment for prostate cancer.

Arsenal legend Bob Wilson has revealed that he is set to undergo treatment for prostate cancer.

The veteran pundit and broadcaster, 72, has been forced to cancel a number of work and charity commitments as he battles the disease.

Wilson, who enjoyed an 11-year spell with the Gunners, released a statement: "I am very confident that the treatment I am receiving will prove successful and kindly ask that my privacy is respected at this time."

His son, John, added: "Knowing how strong my dad is, I have every faith he will be back to match fitness very soon indeed."

Wilson is said to have attended his former club's FA Cup semi-final win over Wigan Athletic at Wembley on Saturday, where the North Londoners triumphed after a penalty shootout.
