Michu equaliser earns Swansea City a point

Swansea City and Liverpool draw 2-2 at the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea City and Liverpool have shared four goals between them in this evening's Premier League meeting at the Liberty Stadium.

The Reds led at half time thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Victor Moses, but Michu's first goal of the season earned a point for the Swans.

Jonjo Shelvey got the home side off to the perfect start against his former club by slotting past Simon Mignolet after his initial effort was blocked by Martin Skrtel.

However, the England international's joy quickly turned to despair when he gifted Daniel Sturridge the chance to equalise, which he duly snapped up, just two minutes later.

The 21-year-old was again at fault when the Merseysiders took the lead in the 36th minute.

His misplaced pass gave possession to Moses on the halfway line, and the Nigerian darted forward to mark his debut for Liverpool with a well-taken goal.

It proved to be an eventful evening for Shelvey, as it was his knockdown that allowed Michu to sweep home the equaliser in the 64th minute.

Both teams pushed forward as the game drew to a close, but neither team could find a winning goal before the full-time whistle.

The result sees Liverpool remain one of two teams unbeaten this season, along with local rivals Everton.

Meanwhile, a point for the hosts sees them rise to 14th.
