Stoke City draw with Swansea City after late Charlie Adam penalty

Stoke City grab a late draw at Swansea City after surrendering a 2-0 lead.

Swansea City have drawn 3-3 with Stoke City in an action-packed Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans' afternoon got off to the worst possible start as Jonathan Walters battled hard to win the ball and lifted it into his own goal.

However, they responded well and had a chance through Roland Lamah, but he directed his effort straight at Asmir Begovic from about five yards.

The home side began to have more of the ball, but Stoke were doing a good job of closing them down.

Stoke's excellent start then got even better as they doubled their lead with 25 minutes gone.

Peter Crouch and Walters created the space, and Stephen Ireland ran through into the area to fire in.

Just before that goal, Wilfried Bony had a decent chance for Swansea, but he volleyed wide.

Begovic was called into action before the break, denying Bony as the striker attempted to go around him.

Swansea found a way back into the match with 10 minutes gone in the second half. Bony rose highest to meet a cross and power home a header.

Bony then had a chance to level the scores, flicking on Wayne Routledge's cross, but Robert Huth snuffed out the danger.

It was 2-2, however, just after 70 minutes. Substitute Nathan Dyer scuffed a shot past Begovic after Stoke failed to clear.

The comeback was complete with just four minutes of normal time remaining. Bony lost his marker before finishing into the bottom corner.

However, the drama was not over yet. As the game ticked into the fourth minute of injury time, Stoke were awarded a penalty after Routledge was adjudged to have handled the ball, and Charlie Adam slotted home to secure a point for the away side.
