Ryan Giggs emerges as managerial candidate for Stoke City?

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs reportedly emerges as a candidate for the vacant managerial position at Stoke City.

Stoke City have reportedly identified Ryan Giggs as a potential successor to Mark Hughes.

On Saturday night, the Potters announced that they had parted company with Hughes after the club suffered a 2-1 defeat to Coventry City in the third round of the FA Cup.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill and Derby County boss Gary Rowett are allegedly the frontrunners for the vacant position at the bet365 Stadium but according to The Mirror, the Potters are giving consideration to Giggs.

The Manchester United legend is said to be in contention for the Wales job, but the FAW is yet to push on with its plans to secure a replacement for Chris Coleman.

That could potentially let in Stoke, who Giggs may see as a more attractive option than Swansea City after publicly claiming that he was not interested in making the switch to the Liberty Stadium.
