No goals between Sociedad, Malaga

Real Sociedad and Malaga play out a dull 0-0 draw in La Liga.

Malaga left Anoeta with a point after nicking a 0-0 draw at Real Sociedad.

Imanol Agirretxe thought he had given the home side the lead in the 18th minute, but the referee had already blown for a foul when the forward swept the ball into the net.

At the other end, Mounir El Hamdaoui, who scored a hat-trick last week, forced Bravo into a good save. From the resulting corner, Sergio Sanchez should have done better than head wide when unmarked.

Agirretxe came close once again after the break, but his low drive flew just wide of the near post.

On the hour mark, Jose Angel's free kick sent Willy Cabellero scrambling in the Malaga goal, but it grazed the crossbar as it dropped just over.

Roque Santa Cruz squandered two chances in the space of five minutes as the game entered the final 10 minutes, and Sergi Darder headed over the bar as the away side pushed for a late winner.
