Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico joins Mallorca on loan for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico has left the club to join Mallorca on loan for the rest of the 2021-22 season.

The 28-year-old slipped down Mauricio Pochettino's pecking order following the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma and has been acting as PSG's third-choice keeper behind the Italian and Keylor Navas.

Rico has only made one appearance for PSG in the current campaign - coming off the bench for the final 22 minutes of November's 3-1 Ligue 1 win over Nantes after Navas was sent off.

PSG have now confirmed that Rico will spend the remainder of the campaign back in his homeland with Mallorca, one-and-a-half years after leaving Sevilla to sign for Les Parisiens.

The one-cap Spain international has kept 14 clean sheets in 24 appearances for PSG across all competitions, starting eight games during the 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign.

Rico - a former Fulham shot-stopper - previously made 114 appearances in La Liga for Sevilla, racking up 38 clean sheets before joining PSG in a £5.4m deal in the summer of 2020.
