Zinedine Zidane reportedly wants to replace Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director Leonardo with Arsene Wenger should he take over from Mauricio Pochettino this year.

Zinedine Zidane is supposedly desperate to work with former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger if he is to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain.

Pochettino is already rumoured to be seeking an exit from PSG amid suggestions that he is unhappy at the club, with Manchester United identifying him as a prime candidate to take over next season.

Should Pochettino leave the Parc des Princes this year, Zidane is thought to be PSG's first choice to replace him, and Les Parisiens reportedly saw the former Real Madrid boss turn down the chance to join them in January.

Zidane supposedly rejected the opportunity due to his dissatisfaction with the way that the club is being run, as well as being less than impressed with sporting director Leonardo.

However, according to Foot Mercato, via GFFN, PSG are prepared to do 'anything' to convince Zidane to replace Pochettino and would be prepared to let the Frenchman decide who he wants as director.

The report adds that Wenger and Zidane are both keen to work with one another, and therefore a partnership at PSG for the 2022-23 season is looking 'increasingly likely'.

Wenger, now 72, left Arsenal after 22 years in charge in the summer of 2018 and is currently working as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development.
