Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain in control against Guingamp

Early goals from Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-0 lead over Guingamp at half time at Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain have opened up a 2-0 lead over Guingamp in the first half of their Ligue 1 clash at Parc des Princes this evening.

The hosts needed less than two minutes to open the scoring as Serge Aurier played the ball forward for Edinson Cavani to smash it into the bottom corner shortly after kickoff.

Guingamp had a couple of chances to get back on level terms shortly after, but Claudio Beauvue's long-range free kick was tipped behind by Salvatore Sirigu, before Jeremy Sorbon tested the keeper with a header at the far post moments later.

After surviving a strong spell by the visitors, PSG doubled their lead inside the opening 20 minutes when Marco Verratti slid a cross in for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, leaving the Swedish international to slice the ball into the top of the net.

Javier Pastore could have added to the advantage when he cut inside before driving the ball towards the Guingamp goal, but Jonas Lossl made the stop, while Cavani was denied a second when his shot was blocked on the line.
