PL clubs 'not expecting to return until June'
Clubs in the Premier League are reportedly expecting to resume action in June, rather than a currently-projected period of May.

Many Premier League clubs reportedly feel that top-flight action will not resume until June at the earliest.

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, it has previously been announced that games will be suspended until at least April 30, with the possibility of a resumption on the first weekend of May.

However, according to The Sun, the majority of teams feel that they will not continue with their schedule until the following month.

On Monday evening, prime minister Boris Johnson increased restrictions on the United Kingdom, stating that the population are unable to attend workplaces for at least three weeks unless working in an industry of public interest.

With gatherings of more than two people also banned, squads and backroom staff are unable to resume sessions at their respective training facilities.

The report adds that the current plan is for clubs to return to formal training on May 1, with a view to playing games during a congested schedule in June and beyond.
