La Liga president Javier Tebas says that he is 'convinced' that Spain's top flight will reach a conclusion later in 2020.

La Liga president Javier Tebas has suggested that he will do everything that he can to ensure that Spain's top flight reaches a conclusion later in 2020.

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, La Liga is one of the majority of top European leagues which have been suspended for the foreseeable future.

Ahead of a UEFA meeting on Tuesday, Tebas says that he remains confident that teams will still get to complete their allocated 38 fixtures.

Speaking to Cadena COPE, Tebas said: "I am convinced that we are going to end the season. We are working with other leagues to match dates. I have had contacts with Italy, Germany. The approach for now is to see what happens on Tuesday with Euro 2020 and then decide. The big clubs in Europe also have a hard time, not just the little ones.

"The news is to see how we finish the championship if there is no Euro because, if not, we are going to have serious problems. We must be in good health, which is the first thing, of course.

"If the competitions are suspended, everything is reviewed and the income is much lower. All team budgets will be compromised if the competition is not over, but I am convinced that it will end."

Should La Liga restart in the coming weeks, teams still have 11 games to play in order to fulfil their fixtures.
