Denilson "looking forward" to Al Wahda challenge

Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson says that he is looking forward to a long future playing for UAE Pro League club Al Wahda.

Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson has said that he is excited by the challenge of playing for Al Wahda.

The 27-year-old has joined the UAE Pro League club on a three-year deal from Sao Paulo for a reported fee of €3m (£1.9m).

"I came here not to play for one or two years but I came here to play for as long as I can," Denilson told reporters. "I know UAE football is growing every year and, thanks to my agent, I'm here now.

"I would like to promise all the Al Wahda fans that I will be playing to the best of my ability and giving my best. It is a new challenge for me but I have heard good things about the league and I'm very much looking forward to it."

Denilson played over 150 games for Arsenal during his seven-year spell at the Gunners.
