Manchester United are reportedly exploring a summer deal for Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca, who is also being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils will move for a new forward ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Ipswich Town's Liam Delap and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres among those linked with switches to Old Trafford.

According to The Sun, Lucca is also firmly on Man United's radar, with the 20-time English champions considering making a £25m move for the 6ft 7in forward at the end of the campaign.

The Italy international has scored 12 times and registered two assists in 32 appearances for Udinese this season, while he has 21 goals and six assists in 71 matches in total for the Italian side, including a loan spell.

Lucca has also been capped on three occasions by Italy, and he was named in the squad for their March internationals, but he had to withdraw from the selection due to an injury problem.

Arsenal and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Lucca, with the Premier League pair also keen to boost their attacking options during this summer's transfer window.

The forward represented Vicenza, Torino, Palermo and Pisa before completing a move to Udinese, while he also spent time on loan with Ajax during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring twice and registering one assist in 16 appearances for the club.

Lucca would represent a low-cost option in the current market, and three of the Premier League's biggest clubs could be set to battle for his signature during the summer market.

Would Lucca be a good signing for Man United?

Man United's struggles in the final third of the field were again on full display against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday night, with Ruben Amorim's side drawing a blank in a 1-0 defeat.

Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to make their mark this season, and it is absolutely vital that the Red Devils add a new striker to their squad during this summer's transfer window.

However, it would be a big ask for Lucca to come in and lead the line at Old Trafford next term, and Man United simply cannot get their striker signing wrong during a difficult period in the club's history.

If Lucca arrived alongside another forward, then there would be less pressure on him to hit the ground running, but either Hojlund or Zirkzee would have to leave for that to become a possibility.

Man United are currently languishing down in 13th spot in the Premier League table, but they can still qualify for next season's Champions League by winning the Europa League this term.
