Manchester United are keen on signing Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich next year, according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Joshua Kimmich's situation at Bayern Munich, with the Red Devils joining the race for his signature.

The 28-year-old's contract at Allianz Arena is due to expire in June 2025, and there have been suggestions that he could be on the move during next summer's transfer window.

Kimmich has again been a vital player for Bayern this season, scoring once and providing six assists in 20 appearances in all competitions, but there is uncertainty surrounding his long-term future.

Barcelona were linked with the Germany international during the summer transfer window, while it is understood that Manchester City are also keen to sign him.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, there is also interest from Man United, with the 20-time English champions being kept informed of any developments ahead of the January transfer window.

A mid-season move away from Allianz Arena is unlikely, but a departure at the end of the campaign is thought to be possible, with talks over a transfer potentially beginning in the near future.

Kimmich is said to be open to a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool also said to be in the race for his signature alongside Barcelona and Man City.

The German made the move to Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2015, and he has represented his current side on 367 occasions in all competitions, scoring 41 goals and registering 100 assists.

Kimmich has won eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cups and the Champions League during his time at Allianz Arena, but he is thought to be looking for a new challenge at this stage of his career.

There is expected to be movement both in and out when it comes to Man United's midfield in 2024, with Donny van de Beek set to be the first to leave.

Van de Beek is heading on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt for the second half of the campaign, with the German outfit set to have the chance to sign him on a permanent basis next summer.

Sofyan Amrabat, meanwhile, will allegedly not be joining on a permanent basis from Fiorentina unless his form drastically improves in the second half of the season.

Casemiro is also being heavily linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia next year, and the club are also believed to be open to offers for Christian Eriksen, so there could be two or three central midfielders required at Old Trafford ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
