Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria wants to join Liverpool over any other club, according to a report.

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria is reportedly determined to secure a move to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has again been an important player for his German club this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist in the process.

Zakaria's current deal is due to expire next June, though, and the Switzerland international is believed to be keen to seek pastures new when his contract ends.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich, have been credited with an interest in the midfielder.

However, according to El Nacional, Zakaria wants to join Liverpool over any other club, with the midfielder determined to secure a switch to Anfield in 2022.

Monchengladbach director Max Eberl recently said that the German club would be open to allowing the Swiss to leave Borussia-Park during the January transfer window.
