Barcelona are still yet to make a decision on the future of Frenkie De Jong, according to their director of football Mateu Alemany.

Barcelona director of football Mateu Alemany has confirmed that the club have not made a decision on the future of midfielder Frenkie De Jong.

The 25-year-old recently indicated that he wants to stay at the Catalan giants amid interest from Manchester United, who are reportedly keen to acquire the Dutch international's services.

However, whether De Jong stays at Camp Nou remains uncertain after Alemany suggested that no decision has been made.

"We haven't made any decisions on the squad, De Jong is important for us. We are clear about what we need, and also that we are conditioned by financial fair play," Alemany told reporters.

If De Jong does leave Barcelona, then Manchester United may face competition for the Dutchman's signature with their rivals Manchester City also reportedly showing an interest.

De Jong, who is under contract with Barcelona until 2026, has scored three goals in 31 La Liga appearances this season.
