Barcelona will reportedly freeze Ousmane Dembele out of the club by not featuring him in their matchday squads, amid strong links with a move to the Premier League.

Barcelona have reportedly told winger Ousmane Dembele that he will not play again for the Catalan giants, amid strong links with a move away from Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old has only featured six times in La Liga for Xavi's side this season, partly due to injury absence, but Dembele is now expected to not play in a Barca shirt again.

Dembele has been linked with a move to Liverpool, according to El Nacional, and Barcelona's financial difficulties have played a part in not being able to secure the French international a new deal.

The Mirror reports that Xavi will not include the winger in his matchday squads in their attempt to freeze him out of the club, and may need to lower their asking price to achieve a sale.

Barcelona and Dembele reportedly failed to agree new terms, with the French international's current contract set to expire in the summer, due to the club wanting to lower his wages astronomically.

Dembele arrived at Camp Nou from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, going on to score 31 goals and provide 23 assists in 129 appearances for the club.
