Liverpool reportedly face uncertainty over their potential Premier League title triumph due to the ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus.

Liverpool reportedly face uncertainty over whether they would be awarded the Premier League title if the coronavirus halts the Premier League.

While top-flight fixtures are continuing to be played in England, other European leagues and sports played worldwide have either been postponed or played behind closed doors.

Although Liverpool sit 22 points clear at the top of the standings, The Telegraph has suggested that no regulations exist regarding the early end to a campaign.

Despite that throwing up the possibility of the Merseyside giants lifting the trophy without playing their allotted fixtures, it also means that this season may be scratched off the record books.

There would also be ramifications at the bottom end of the table with clubs under threat of relegation able to argue that they should not find themselves in the Championship without playing the full 38 fixtures.

Talks involving the Football Association and the Premier League are likely to take place in the coming weeks.
