Coronavirus latest: Chinese Super League 'to restart in April'

The Chinese Super League could reportedly restart as early as April with clubs returning to the country from areas of refuge following the outbreak of coronavirus.

The Chinese Super League could reportedly restart as early as April with clubs returning to the country from areas of refuge following the outbreak of coronavirus.

Teams had fled to Dubai and Spain among countries to seek refuge, but club officials now believe there is a lower risk of being infected within China.

Current champions Guangzhou Evergrande relocated to Dubai for a training camp, while Wuhan Zall travelled to Spain, where they have been forced to remain due to a lockdown in China.

The Daily Mail reports that the Chinese league is set to restart on April 18 after a reduction in the number of cases of coronavirus.

The Chinese season was due to begin on February 22 but was suspended following the outbreak of the illness.

However, with the condition improving within the country, it has been reported that sport will soon be resumed.
